This is so much better than the photos. Do read the instructions carefully and don't cut the strap until you're completely finished. It looks super and is big! The folding lid closes leaving room for my laptop, mouse, cords etc so I can close up my home office when I don't want to see it. As the room is used as a music room/den it's nice to hide it away. It all seems to be solid wood and is a great colour.Update Sept 2020I still love this desk and have received many compliments how it looks in the room. However, if you use it every day, even without leaning on it heavily, the fold out desk section started to come apart. Nothing broke, but the joint showed a small gap. I fixed the issue by adding two shelf supports, one on each side. These come off when I'm not using the whole desk and leave a small, dark screw head showing on each side. See the added photo.

Luckily my only tools are a hammer and a screwdriver, so I lucked out in that front because I didn't know I would need to screw things. Unfortunately I don't know how I'm going to anchor it to a wall just yet with no power tools....As long as you take you time and follow the instructions, assembly is pretty easy. I put it together myself but it would have been nice to have an extra person to hold the legs while I put some elbow grease in, but I managed. This baby is much heavier than I was expecting (not a bad thing) so once together it's nice and stable.I LOVE the height of this desk, it's the entire reason I got it. But for now it's just going to have to stay closed so it doesn't fall over.Just a heads up, think of the fold out part as More of a door to the inside of the desk because it is not strong enough to lean on. Personally, I'm going to add some sort of support to prevent it breaking. I don't mind because this is the only desk like this I can find and I'm a handy gal, however some might find it a deal breaker.

I’m shocked at how well made this piece is. It is intended to be a standing desk, however, I trimmed the legs down and I’m using it as a perfectly sized vanity for my master bedroom. It’s solid wood (no veneer or particle board) and the top comes preassembled- just add the legs! It’s pretty heavy, so you may need a little help maneuvering it. All in all, I am extremely pleased with this piece.

Easy to assemble, solid construction, not sure of the usefulness of the convertible top but it hurts nothing. Attractive finish as well. Looks like it will last a long time.

Very sturdy and nice size. I use it for work and fits everything, laptop, phone, documents, writing pad, lamp, and everything more. Nice height, too . Will add folding shelf supports just to give a little extra help to the table.
