Nice nightstand for the price! Shelves aren't meant for anything to hold, only something light, but the stand itself is sturdy. So if those shelves eventually give up or break, I will replace them myself with something sturdier.

While this product isn't going to win any awards for master craftsmanship it's well worth the price paid. It came flat-packed more than adequately in a secure box surrounded by styrofoam blocks and padded wrapping. While one box (I'd ordered two) had a dent in one side I noticed no damage to the product inside from the shipping process. All parts & hardware were accounted for. The instructions were pictograms and were clear in what needed to go where with no confusion or having to undo things already done and this can go together with a phillips screwdriver in mere minutes - it's basically eleven screws and 8 wood plugs that cover some of them. A small hammer helps to install the plugs but you can probably use the handle of your screwdriver to install them if need be seeing as they don't need a whole lot of force to seat. I'd also suggest assembling this on a soft or cushioned surface to avoid scratching the top. Fit and finish were good and there were no issues with misaligned pre-drilled holes or parts not fitting together correctly. While there were some darker spots on the top due to natural variations in the wood I didn't consider them to be a deal-breaker. Note that the frame of this item is solid wood but the side panels and "shelves" are not and are quite thin (maybe 1/8") and flex easily so they're not going to be able to support a whole lot of weight as opposed to the top which seems like it would be able to support the weight of an average person (not that I recommend doing that). All in all, I'm satisfied with this product.

The Winsome wood table has pros and cons that I found out after/when assembling it. It meets my minimum needs but has drawbacks.PROS: Sturdy enough for me to place approximately 40 pounds on the top; and it looks good.CONS: The 2 thin wooden shelves weren't sized properly (they were a little too small) and they are too weak; after 2 days of placing 3 books (about 3 pounds) on the bottom shelf, the wood warped; also the side panels aren't easy to put on.RECOMMENDATION for Seller: Thicker wood for the 2 shelves, better size shelves, and give the buyers an option to buy this unit without the door and sides. I unscrewed the door and took off the sides before completely assembling the unit; it now looks nicer and shines more light inside, but things will get dusty now.
