This was exactly what we were looking for! The prices on all these wooden bookshelves are a bit ridiculous, but considering this is priced in the middle-to-lower end, it's perfect
It's a little tricky to assemble, but other than that, it is great! It actually isn't as cheesy as I was worried it might be. Glad I bought it!
I had a slight problem in assembling shelf...put the slanted shelves as the backing...had to take apart and re do that part. I was thinking a picture of the assembled shelf would have helped me (I need visuals!). Shelf is sturdy and looks very nice with my collections displayed so you can see the items rather than just the boxes.
I purchased the bookcase to place text books (math, physics, engineering, chemistry) and three ring binders from previous semesters that I still use. The description states 11.8' high, but that is the clearance at the lowest point of the slanted shelf. Can't get text book through the highest point on the shelf. Great little book case and easy to assemble. Sturdy and very sleek design. But can't do the job I need. Great for small books, magazines, etc, just not text books.
Assembly instructions were a bit confusing. Illustrations were a bare minimum. For example, the left side support was not easily distinguished from the right. Simply putting stick on indentifiers would have made things clearer. I finally figured out the configuration by studying the picture of the completed unit on the internet. Otherwise, a sturdy unit with attractive natural wood.
