I was looking for an inexpensive little side table for a spot next to a desk, and this one is perfect. I like the open design and color a lot (it's a little more chocolate than some of the other items I have at home that also call themselves "espresso" but are nearly black). The wood is slightly unevenly cut in one spot (maybe there was a knot), there are minor dings in the finish in a couple of spots (Thailand is a long way to travel to here) and the finish isn't 100% even on some of the undersides, but I'm still really happy with the table. It's easy to assemble, sturdy, attractive, and really affordable. If the table cost 3x as much, I'd be inclined to be pickier about these things. As it is, it's a great table.
First of all, it was packaged very well and arrived with no missing/broken pieces. Had to be assembled and instructions were one sheet with three steps. Would have helped if 1) they would have broken down instructions to maybe five steps to keep part images clearer and 2) label each piece as "A", "B", "C", etc as that's how they were identified in the instructions. Once I figured it out it took about 20-25 minutes to assemble and only had one issue where the dowel holes didn't line up as well as they could have. Took a bit of force but I got it to seat in the dowel hole. Aside from that, happy with the purchase.
The finished product has been amazing so far. We're using ours as part of our entryway furniture so it's just holding keys and a couple other decorative items, but it definitely seems like it could hold a much more significant amount of weight. I think the color is slightly lighter and more variegated than it seems in the pictures; there's more definition to the wood grain and the overall color isn't quite as dark as I thought it would be. This actually works for me better because I was thinking I might need to paint it if the wood was too dark. My only real concern is with the construction. None of the parts were labeled so you have to look closely at the pictures to make sure you're doing things right, and the instructions recommend two people for assembly. It's not essential to have two people, but it definitely would have helped the process go along more easily. I have some concerns about two of the slats in the back because they're essentially just held in with dowels into pre-drilled holes. I would have felt better if they screwed in somehow, but again, we haven't had any problems with them yet and the overall frame seems sturdy. I just think if there's any weak points in the table, it's going to be those back slats, so it's something to be aware of depending on your needs. But I'm still overall very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a small table!
This self is exactly what I had been looking for. I needed two small shelves to fit on either side of my bathroom vanity to serve as a decorative but also purposeful piece. The stain is darker than o anticipated, but it still goes well with my bathroom vanity! I was surprised and happy that the shelf was made of solid wood too! It was super easy to assemble. I assembled them both on my own in about 20 minutes.
Wow!! This beautiful small shelving unit went together like a dream. All the heavy brass screws fit their pre-drilled holes perfectly, and I was able to put it together (even though I have arthritis in my hands) by myself with the included Allen wrench in about 45 minutes. This is how DIY furniture should be manufactured. The wood has a beautiful dark stain. I had to study the pieces and the diagrams a bit so I had the best side facing out/up. The pieces do not have identifying stickers on them, but after looking at the components and the drill holes and figuring out what was the bottom and top, the unit went together very fast.I would not hesitate to buy other items from this manufacturer, so I'm looking to see what I might order next!
