So, start with my only complaint: kit furniture usually has stickers labeling each piece so you can match them up with the pictures in the directions. This does not. It took me a while to get started, figuring out which pieces I needed and how to put them together. After I got started, though, I did the entire thing alone in about 30-45minutes. The kit comes with an Allan wrench, but you need a small Phillips head, too.Pro tip - read all of the directions carefully first, and then do not tighten anything all the way until you’re ready to stand it up. This is just good practice for any assembly. If you can, a second set of hands would make assembling the doors a LOT easier. But I did it alone and they look good. The wood isn’t perfect, and there’s quite a few blemishes. The doors are also slightly offset, but it’s something you’re only going to notice if it’s been pointed out to you. However, for the price, this is really quality. It’s sturdy and it looks more expensive than it is. I would buy it again.
This stand is somewhat frustrating to put together so make sure and follow the instructions carefully. It's worth the effort, in my opinion. It's a beautiful addition to my living room and I get lots of compliments on it.
I used this just to hold my various TV devices (Roku, Blue-Ray Player, Cable Box, etc.). It really is never going to hold any real weight, but it is a solid unit. The color is good, the wood seems to be fairly solid, and overall a good little unit. The only issue I had was with installing the doors. I was able to make them fit, but getting the doors to fit with the upper and lower pins was definitely a tight squeeze, and honestly, not the best design based on the very tight clearances required to install. Honestly, the instructions should have you install the doors prior to screwing in the middle and bottom sections to the side pieces, that would have allowed for a much more simple install on the doors and would not have been any harder to put the piece together. When I was all done, the doors didn't line up perfectly of course, but I was able to just put a little bit of down force on the higher of the two and it lined up just fine after that. The only other little item was that some of the wood edges did seem to get scratched in shipping rubbing off the finish, but I have a pack of the furniture pens that was able to solve that issue quickly. For the price, this was by far the best option for me, and the only reason I give it 4 stars is the minor items I mention. I would recommend this product, with the listed caveats.
This TV stand arrived in bullet-proof packaging with no damage and all the various parts included. The picture instructions are fairly easy to understand and the assembly was uneventful, albeit, time consuming at 2.5 hours from unboxing, parts inventory, and completion. The peg and bolt construction makes for a very sturdy stand. The doors on the stand I received are not hinged but are mounted with an upper and lower pin screwed to the door and inserted into holes in the frame. Attaching the lower pin is very awkward and difficult. The doors fit properly but tend to sag slightly because of the pin hinge. A conventional hinge would be far better.
I ordered this to put under our wall mounted TV to hold electronics and have a little storage until we remodeled and put in a built in unit, so I didn't want to pay a lot. I was very pleased with the price and no shipping charges, especially to our location. Most of the similar items I looked at could not be shipped here. I wish it was a little longer as it is not as wide as our TV but it will work. It arrived early and in good shape. Took a little while to put together but it was easy and there were not a lot of pieces. I still can't get the doors aligned, but I can live with that for the price.
